I started by just wanting to see if I could actually cut the cogs required for the internal workings of the clock...
I used a 1/4 artist board and cut the gears:
I put the cogs through a test & determined that the pressure on the teeth was too much as they started to break quickly.
So, I cut some 9.25 mm planks from cedar:
and attached the templates to them so that I can start all over again tomorrow:
